Teluk Bahang Monkey Cup Roundabout is one of the latest roundabouts in Penang to be beautified. It is now adorned with the giant sculptures of the Monkey Cup or pitcher plant, a genus known by its scientific name Nepenthes. The result is one of the most beautiful roundabouts in Penang.

N. albomarginata is endemic to Peninsular Malaysia, Borneo and Sumatra. Its pitcher measures up to 15 cm in length (or should I say, height). On the front side of the pitcher is a pair of fringed wings. N. gracilis is found in forested lowlands in Peninsular Malaysia, Borneo, Sulawesi, Sumatra and even Singapore. Bulbous in appearance, the Nepenthes ampullaria has one of the most adorable pitchers of the genus. It is found in damp, shady forests throughout Peninsular Malaysia, Borneo, Sumatra, Thailand, Singapore, the Maluku Islands and New Guinea.
The Teluk Bahang Monkey Cup Roundabout is where for main roads meet: Jalan Teluk Bahang, Jalan Titi Kerawang, Jalan Hasan Abas and Jalan Teluk Awak.
