Sungai Jawi, Seberang Perai (10 May 2023)
Sungai Jawi is the name of a major river in Seberang Perai Selatan. It takes its name after the settlement of Jawi, which developed off the river bank. Sungai Jawi the river has its source in Kedah, near the border with Penang. From there, it flows in a curve that winds in the northwesterly direction. Just before the river mouth, Sungai Jawi meets Sungai Junjung. From there, it widens substantially before emptying into the Penang Channel.
