Island 88 (GPS: 5.45039, 100.30605) is an upmarket shopping mall in Tanjong Tokong. Originally known as Island Plaza, it is located at the junction of Jalan Tanjong Tokong with Jalan Seri Tanjung Pinang. Island 88 comprises a podium block and an office block. The anchor tenant for the mall was Metrojaya, which operated the department store, with Cold Storage (Malaysia) operating the supermarket, until the shopping mall went into a prolonged state of renovation, which saw the closure of both outlets.

Getting there

The nearest bus stop is along the Jalan Tanjong Tokong in front of Island 88. When leaving the mall, one can also catch taxis easily from the taxi stand in front. Rapid Penang Buses that pass through Tanjong Tokong Road includes 101, 102, 103, and 104.
