Pure Lotus Hospice of Compassion (10 July 2022)
Pure Lotus Hospice of Compassion (GPS: 5.41612, 100.3089) is a hospice in George Town, Penang. It is located on Jalan Utama, across the road from Hospital Pulau Pinang. The Buddhist hospice was established in 2001 by a retired nurse-tutor who beame a Buddhist nun, the Venerable Lyan Shih, as a place where terminally ill patients can have a place where they can be taken care. Patients are given nursing care and spiritual support in their moments of need, anxiety and pain.
In addition to looking after patients, Pure Lotus Hospice of Compassion also has other activities including meditation classes, fund raising to support the work, and giving food to the poor. The hospice celebrated its 21st anniversary on 1 July 2022.
