Post Offices can be found throughout Penang Island. While they traditionally are standalone buildings, nowadays many of the post offices are located within shopping malls, enabling shoppers to visit them while shopping. In the present Pos Malaysia nomenclature, the post offices are today called "outlets". This is in additional to the POS On Wheels and Pos Mini Outlets.
As with post offices in other countries, the Post Offices in Malaysia do not only handle postal material. One can also pay a variety of bills and renew licenses here. In fact, the bill-paying role of the post office has somewhat dominated the work carried out in most of the post offices today.
