The Old OCBC Bank Building (GPS: 5.41725, 100.34179), nowadays part of the OCBC Premier Banking complex, is located a short distance from the present building. The three-storey structure along Beach Street was built in 1938 in the Art Deco style which was fashionable during that time. The OCBC logo, unchanged since the 1930's can be seen on the building.
The facade of the old OCBC Building was surfaced in Shanghai plaster which gives it a greyish appearance. The two upper floors are finished with vertical columns of plasters, with a ring motif framing the central portion.
