Bertam Resort Penang (GPS: 5.52052, 100.45308) is a luxury resort hotel in Bertam, Seberang Perai, Penang. It is part of Bertam Resort & Waterpark, an integrated development which occupies a 20-acre plot on the north side of Jalan Tun Hamdan Sheikh Tahir. The development comprises the 5-star luxury hotel Bertam Resort, and the Bertam Waterpark, which I will describe separately.
Bertam Resort is a luxury resort. Its design, architectural style and finishing touches draw inspiration from a Moroccan oasis. The main lobby and surrounding wings cloister around the huge pool, which is lushly landscaped with palm trees and dotted with pavilions. The resort offers 300 guestrooms. Room types include the 295 sqft Superior, 323 sqft Deluxe, 387 sqft Double Queen, 462 sqft Corner Suite, 592 sqft Junior Suite, 678 sqft Club Suite, 1,141 sqft Pool Suite and the 1,162 sqft Mezzanine Suite.
Dining outlets at Bertam Resort include the main restaurant, Essaouira, which opens from 7:00am to 11:00pm, the al-fresco Kasbah, which overlooks the Bertam Waterpark, from 11:00am to 11:00pm, the fine-dining outlet Le Grill, which offers French-Asian cuisine from 6:00pm to 10:30pm, L'Oasis club lounge which operates from 7:00am to 7:00pm, the Pool Bar, from 11:00am to 7:00pm, and the Lobby Lounge, from 1:00am to 1:00am.
Recreational facilities at Bertam Resort include Kechmara Spa (to open middle of 2023), the huge swimming pool and the gym. The resort hotel is also well equipped for meetings, seminars, conferences and wedding banquets. It has 9 meeting rooms of various sizes, named after locations in Morocco, among them Rabat, Fez, Marrakesh, Tangier, Kenitra, Mekness, Sahara, Atlas and Merzouga.
For large conferences and wedding banquets, there is the Casablanca Grand Ballroom, which seats an audience of 2,600 theatre style, or 1,500 banquet diners. This grand ballroom can be segregated into Casablanca 1 and Casablanca 2 for activities of a smaller scale.
