Sungai Rambai, Bukit Mertajam

Sungai Rambai (GPS: 5.36421, 100.4536) is a neighbourhood in Bukit Mertajam, Seberang Perai Tengah. It is served by Jalan Sungai Rambai. The main landmark of the area is Masjid Sungai Rambai. The Bukit Mertajam Specialist Hospital is also within Sungai Rambai. Despite its name, I have not found a river by the name of Sungai Rambai in the immediate vicinity. Sungai Juru flows to the west side of the neighbourhood.

When the Sungai Rambai neighbourhood was developed, roads were given names after fruits. As such, there are roads with names such as Jalan Nangka, Jalan Cempedak, Jalan Keranji (tamarind-plum, Dialium indum), Jalan Janggus, Jalan Tembikai, Jalan Betek, Jalan Nenas and Jalan Manggis, among others.
