There were regular traffic jams at the interchange to the Penang Bridge, which has reduced somewhat with the widening of the bridge. Nevertheless Friday evenings are when traffic is heaviest on the bridge, with congestion spilling onto the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway.
