Lotus's E-Gate Penang (GPS: 5.37789, 100.31526), at 1 Lebuh Tunku Kudin 1, 11700 Gelugor, Penang, It originally openeded in November 2004 as Tesco Penang, becoming the first hypermarket on Penang Island. It occupies a piece of freehold land in the Udini neighbourhood along the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway, near the Tunku Kudin Interchange. The building has 275,000 sqft of lettable area and 1050 car parking bays.
The anchor tenant is the Tesco hypermarket which occupies the 2nd floor of the three-storey building. The car park occupies the ground and first floor, which also has lettable area for other tenants including Courts, Popular Bookshop, KFC, McDonalds, Pizza Hut, The Chicken Rice Shop, Cosway, 600cc, among others.
The Lotus's Penang building was constructed by IJM Properties. It was sold to Quill Capita Trust for RM132 million in May 2008.
Lotus's Penang may be entered from Jalan Tunku Kudin, if coming from George Town, as well as from the Jelutong Expressway, if coming from the south and the Penang Bridge. For public transport, Rapid Penang Bus No. 206 goes between from Lotus's Penang to Weld Quay Ferry & Bus Terminal.
