Hong Chuan Buddhist Institute is an institution established to propagate the knowledge in Buddhism and also to cultivate a Buddhism lifestyle. It is located along York Road, at the junction of Scotland Road, across from Union High School. The institute conducts ceremonies such as weddings in the Buddhist tradition.

Hong Chuan Buddhist Institute is noted for the distinctive seven-tier pagoda in its compound. It is similar in appearance to the pagoda at the Penang Buddhist Association.

Getting there

Rapid Penang Buses No. 304 passes through Scotland Road. Walk from bus stop at Scotland Road to the institute at York Road.
