Kedai Kopi Seow Fong Lye (GPS: 5.41697, 100.329) is a coffee shop at 94C Macalister Lane in George Town, Penang. It is a popular eating place in the neighbourhood, and can get quite crowded particularly in the morning and during lunch.

Kedai Kopi Seow Fong Lye has a number of popular hawker stalls selling, among others, chee cheong fun, char koay teow, oyster porridge, pasembur and Hokkien mee. There is also the popular Macalister Lane Koay Kark selling nearby from a pushcart.

Getting to Kedai Kopi Seow Fong Lye

You can walk from Komtar Bus Terminal. Take Tek Soon Street heading west until junction with Penang Road. Cross the road then continue on Bertam Lane to reach Macalister Lane. Turn right and walk heading north on Macalister Lane to reach Kedai Kopi Seow Fong Lye on your right.

This was the first time that I paid a visit to Kedai Kopi Seow Fong Lye with the express purpose of trying out its Chee Cheong Fun. The stall was there, so we ordered Chee Cheong Fun, Hokkien Mee and Wan Tan Mee. The Hokkien Mee has spareribs. I enjoyed all three items.
