Dewan Dato Haji Ahmad Badawi, Butterworth

Dewan Dato Haji Ahmad Badawi (29 January 2009)

Dewan Dato Haji Ahmad Badawi is a community hall of the Majlis Perbandaran Seberang Perai (Seberang Perai Municipal Council). Originally built by the British administrators and was the British Recreation Club building, it was rebuilt and renamed after the late father of the then Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dato Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, who declared the building open at a ceremony on 31 July, 2007. The multi-purpose hall is located along Jalan Bagan Luar. It faces an open field called Padang Pemuda Merdeka, near the junction with Jalan Heng Choon Thian.

Dewan Ahmad Badawi is accessed through the road that runs behind it, Jalan Dato Haji Ahmad Saad. The Butterworth Outer Ring Road runs between it and the sea.
