Sungai Ikan Mati, Permatang Damar Laut, Penang (14 February 2022)


Sungai Ikan Mati (GPS: 5.27208, 100.26831) is a river that empties into the sea at Permatang Damar Laut, Penang. It is between the forest path heading towards Pantai Esen and Teluk Kapur. The mouth is rocky with many large boulders. The river flows into the mudflats of the area, which is often filled with trash that washes up as well as those discarded locally. The name of the river means "river of dead fish", which is not entirely surprising.
