Blissful Memorial Park Arch, Bukit Mertajam (15 April 2006)


Blissful Memorial Park (GPS: 5.37563, 100.52171) is a cemetery in Sungai Lembu, Bukit Mertajam. It has the largest gateway arch in Malaysia, a recognition that has been recorded in the Malaysia Book of Records. The gateway measures 18.29 meters in height and 21.95 meters in width. It took 16 months to build, and was certified by the Malaysia Book of Records on 4 March 2006.



The gateway arch leads into the Blissful Memorial Park Chinese Cemetery. (In comparison, the largest arch in Malaysia is the Kota Darul Ehsan Arch between Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya.)

Sculptors from China were employed to craft the Blissful Memorial Park Gateway which was completed in December 2005. The gateway commemorates Chinese culture in penang.
