Foo Heong (GPS: 5.41767, 100.33329) is a Cantonese-style restaurant along Cintra Street, in George Town, Penang. During the 1970's it was one of the most popular Chinese restaurants in Penang, and is crowded every evening. The restaurant specialises in Chinese À la carte dishes as well as stir-fry noodle dishes such as Sar Hor Fun and Yee Foo Mee.
For various reasons, Foo Heong has seen its heydays and is today a shadow of its former self. Many evenings there are only one or two tables occupied. Nowadays you will find that the dinner crowd head for Foo Heong's main competitor, De Tai Tong, a short distance across the road.
