I visited Joo Hooi Cafe with an old friend. I ordered two plates of char koay teow with duck egg. We were among the first customers that day, so we had to wait about 10 minutes for our order. This is how it looks like.

I found the char koay teow to be a bit whitish (not spicy enough). I did not specify that I want it spicy or non spicy. I was afraid that asking it to be spicy may result in it being too spicy. The char koay teow cost RM6.50, yet the portion is rather small.
After eating it, I was still hungry, and so I ordered the laksa. The stall is being manned by an Indian guy. How surprising. Perhaps he was employed by the owner to sell the laksa. My small bowl of laksa cost RM4.50. Wow, to me that too is very expensive and rather watery. I learn that this is a very popular laksa stall, but as far as I'm concerned, the fame exceeds the quality.
