Taman Jaya Yew Min Kung Temple (22 August 2015)


Yew Min Kung Temple (GPS: 5.3555, 100.4703; SC/TC: 佑民宫 , Pinyin: Yòumíngōng) is a Chinese temple in Taman Jaya, Bukit Mertajam. Built in 1978, it is dedicated to the Tua Pek Kong, the Chinese god of prosperity.

The main prayer hall of Yew Min Kung has a double tier roof with a porch supported by round columns. In front of this is the altar, also sheltered by a porch with curving roof ridges. The temple sits on a hill slope affording some views of Bukit Mertajam below.

Yew Min Kung Temple is open daily from 7:00 am to 6:30 pm. Feast days here is on the 15th day of the 3rd lunar month, which is the birthday of Tua Pek Kong.
