Kedai Makan dan Minum Choo Kim Choon (9 August 2013)


Kedai Makan dan Minum Choo Kim Choon is a coffee shop in Balik Pulau, Penang. It is located next to the old Balik Pulau Market building. Choo Kim Choon is housed in a very long double-storey shophouse. This provides it ample space for lots of tables. The sitting area stretches across the full length of the shophouse.

Among the hawker food available at Choo Kim Choon include the chicken rice, Hokkien mee and Lor Mee, among others. My wife and I visited it on 9 August 2013, because someone on Facebook recommended it to us. The Hokkien mee and Lor Mee are sold at the same stall. To our amusement, we discovered that the seller knew my wife. It costs RM3.30 for the large bowl. The portion was quite a lot - alas, we cannot determine whether that's because the seller knows my wife. Nonetheless, I like the taste very much.

I also saw that the chicken rice was doing very good business, but have no chance to try it. I'll keep this for our next trip to Balik Pulau.
