Taman Kota Lama gateway arch (22 February 2014)


Taman Kota Lama is a public park in George Town, Penang. It is located between Fort Cornwallis and the parade ground of Esplanade. The park was created in the late 1970's and has been improved upon a few times since then. It now has a basketball court, a skating rink and a children's playground, among others. There are benches for people to sit and enjoy a rest.

A gateway arch is erected at the entrance of the park. It is in the shape of a mock fort, complete with a pair of cannons, in reference to the actual fort next to it.

Getting there

The nearest bus stop is on Light Street served by Rapid Penang bus 103, 204, 502 and CAT.
