Top Taste Restaurant (GPS: 5.32683, 100.29424) is a coffee shop in Kampung Jawa, Bayan Baru. It occupies the corner shophouse along Lorong Kampung Jawa, at the junction of Solok Kampung Jawa 8. It is quite busy during lunch time, as its catchment includes the factories and offices of the Bayan Lepas Free Industrial Zone.

Top Taste Restaurant has a wide range of hawker fare. This includes curry mee, char koay teow, wantan mee, economy rice, chicken rice, Hokkien mee, mee goreng, mee rebus, and Lor Mee, among others.

I used to go to Top Taste Restaurant for lunch when I was still working at the Bayan Lepas FIZ. But since I went full time writing this website, I have stopped coming here for a long time. It so happens that there's no food at home today, so I decided to go somewhere I haven't been for a while to have my lunch. Since it is still the Nine Emperor Gods Festival season, I wasn't sure whether the coffee shop is open, but I decided to take a chance. And luckily, it was open.

But it was also very crowded. I managed to share a table with someone, and later, when an empty table opened up, I moved over. I decided to order the char koay teow. I couldn't remember the last time I had it, must be years ago already.

How's the taste? To be honest, just okay. It comes with two big prawns, which I do appreciate, for the price of RM5 only. But the taste isn't particularly outstanding, just good enough to get by. Maybe the fire isn't sufficiently intensive.
