Muara Sungai Pinang is the area around the mouth of the Sungai Pinang in George Town, Penang. Once a scruffy working-class neighbourhood, the area is being transformed with urban redevelopment. This is taking place just as the river, Sungai Pinang, undergoes rehabitation and clean up.
In line with the gentrification of Muara Sungai Pinang, pedestrian footpaths and bicycle tracks are being built on both sides of the river mouth. The Sungai Pinang footbridge has also been built for the convenience of joggers and cyclists.
