Andaman Island (2 March 2023)
Andaman Island is a manmade island off the coast of Tanjong Tokong, Penang. It was developed by Tanjung Pinang Development (TPD), a subsidiary of Eastern & Oriental Berhad (E&O). Andaman Island is part of the 760-acre second phase of the Seri Tanjung Pinang development. Dredging works on Andaman Island began in 2016, and the island took its present shape in 2022. What we have is just half of the entire Seri Tanjung Pinang Phase 2 development. A second half of the Andaman Island will be created in the future to form a papaya-shaped island with a channel cutting through the middle.
