Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple, Jelutong (11 February 2013)
Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple (GPS: 5.39024, 100.31225) is a small Hindu temple in Jelutong. It is located on the northern end of Ipoh Lane. I came across it one weekend, when I went to the Jelutong Market for breakfast.
The Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple has a wall that is painted in stripes of white and red. The sanctuary is coloured blue, with sculptures of Hindu gods in multi-colours. There is a lion statue on the wall guarding the entrance.
The name Sri Veeramakaliamman is a quite common name for a Hindu temple, where the patron deity is the goddess Kali. Other temples that I have documented with this name includes the Sri Veerama Kaliamman Devasthanam in Gelugor and the Sri Veeramakaliamman in Singapore.
