Penanti (GPS: 5.40504, 100.46544) is a village in Seberang Perai Tengah on the Penang Mainland. The town is often regarded as contiguous with Kubang Semang, with numerous overlaps, although to be precise, the pekan of Penanti is slightly north of the pekan of Kubang Semang. The town centre where Kubang Semang meets Penanti bears the character of a semi-rural town that is not yet a full-fledged urban centre. It is possible therefore to see Malay traditional stilt houses next to more modern properties.
The State Seat of Penanti, as of 2015, is represented by state assemblyman Norlela binti Ariffin of PKR. It is under the federal constituency of Permatang Pauh.
