Pusat Pemulihan Dalam Komuniti, Permatang Damar Laut

Pusat Pemulihan Dalam Komuniti (GPS: 5.27589, 100.27175) is a welfare centre in Permatang Damar Laut, Penang. It was established by an Indian Muslim couple some 16 years ago (ca. 2003), as a means to help their own son, who is also a special child. Since then, the husband had passed on, so the centre was being managed by the woman and his other son, who was normal.

With financial assistance from the government, Pusat Pemulihan Dalam Komuniti was able to help special people of all the different communities, so that those who are able can contribute to society, in any way that they can. This includes some manual work, such as folding files.

The children and young people do not overnight at the centre. They came in the morning until just after lunch, when they return home. Lunch is provided at the centre itself.
