Restoran Chiap Hong is a coffee shop in the heart of Bukit Mertajam. It is housed in a distinctive corner shophouse at the junction of Jalan Bunga Raya and Jalan Pasar.

Out of all the stalls at Restoran Chiap Hong, perhaps the most famous is Orang Hock Rojak, reputably the first and most famous rojak stall in Bukit Mertajam. There is also a stall selling barbecue meat rice (char siew pooi) and one selling titbits.

Getting there

Restoran Chiap Hong is on the same side of Jalan Pasar as the Bukit Mertajam Market. From the bus stop along Jalan Muthu Palaniappan, you can reach it by taking either Jalan Bunga Raya (it'll be on the left) or Jalan Pasar (it'll be on the right). The bus stop is served by Rapid Penang bus 701, 702, 709 and 802.
