Kampung Dodol, George Town, Penang (9 July 2022)


Kampung Dodol (GPS: 5.40475, 100.31572) is a Malay urban village in George Town, Penang. It is located off Perak Road, across from Masjid Wan Chik Ariffin. The village was named after a Malay sweet delicacy made from caramelised sugar.

Once it was a rural village in the outskirts of town, but today Kampung Dodol is hemmed in on all sides by the urban development of George Town. Nevertheless, walking through the village, you can feel the quietness of being in a rural village.
