Sunrise Tower (GPS: 5.43984, 100.3083) is a single-block condominium in Bagan Jermal, Penang. The 18-storey tower was completed in 1977 on freehold land. At the time of its completion, it was one of the tallest buildings in Penang as well as one of the earliest condominiums in the state. Sunrise Tower provides 3-bedroom 2-bathroom units. Each unit has a built-up area of 1,800 sqft.
The podium of Sunrise Tower is occupied by various food and beverage outlets. The American fast-food restaurant McDonald's had one of its oldest outlets in Penang here. The outlet was one of the few McDonald's to have ever cease operations, closing on 31 July, 2016. The premises was taken over by another American fast-food chain, Wendy's, which opened its 10th Malaysian outlet there on 4 November the same year.
