Sekolah Kebangsaan Sungai Ara (GPS: 5.32614, 100.27223) is a national primary school in Sungai Ara, Penang. The school is located along Jalan Dato Ismail Hashim, formerly Jalan Sungai Ara.
Sekolah Kebangsaan Sungai Ara is one of the oldest Malay schools on the southwestern part of Penang Island. It was established in 1883, and was originally called the Relau Malay School. During its first year of operation, the school had three teachers and around one hundred pupils.
In 1927 the Relau Malay School relocated to Sungai Ara to occupy its present premises. The school embarked on a number of expansion programs in 1952 and 1971 to cope with the increase in student intake. The oldest building still standing is Block A, erected in 1971. Due to lack of space, the older buildings had to be demolished.
In 1979, another building - Block B - was built for Sekolah Kebangsaan Sungai Ara. This was followed by Block C in 1988.
