Rumah Tuan Guru Haji Othman (11 September 2015)


Rumah Tuan Guru Haji Othman (GPS: 5.40728, 100.47436) is a heritage house in Kubang Ulu, a Malay village in Penanti, Bukit Mertajam. It is one of the very old Malay-style houses that is three storeys high. The house is believed to be over a hundred years old, though I am not fully certain when exactly was it first built. The namesake was a religious teacher from the turn of the 20th century.

When I paid a visit to the house, I was a bit disheartened to see the modern-day extension that is not in keeping with the original design.
