The RAAF had its presence in Tanjong Tokong when it opened the RAAF Club for its personnel and families in January 1962 until its closure in the 1980s, leading up to the full pull out of RAAF from Butterworth.
1 Formerly a working class neighbourhood, Fettes Park has in the last two decades been gentrified with the houses upgraded as the people become more well off.
