The Penang Tourism Information Centre or Pusat Penerangan Pelancongan Pulau Pinang is housed within the Penang Heritage Centre at 116 & 118 Acheen Street. It is set up by the state government to provide tourists in Penang with the appropriate information before they set up to explore George Town and other places in Penang. Since the Inner City of George Town was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Penang Heritage Centre is now also the office of George Town World Heritage Inc.

At the Penang Tourism Information Centre, visitors can collect brochures published by various tourist sights. Staff is also on hand to answer questions. There is a three-dimensional model of George Town, from along Jalan Masjid Kapitan Keling to Lebuh Acheh. At one time, there is also an exhibit of George Town in the form of dioramas. The George Town Dioramas depict various scenes in the city, many of which are actual sites such as the barber shop at Lebuh Queen, the stretch of shop houses at Lebuh King, scenes at roadside stalls, in the market, and so on.
