Bangunan AHP2
|
Bangunan AHP2 is a glass-and-steel skyscraper in George Town. It is located at the junction of Penang Street with Bishop Street, at the heart of George Town's Financial District. Built in the eighties, before strict regulation on height within the heritage zone was implemented, Bangunan AHP2 towers over the Financial District.
Bangunan AHP@ is 14 storeys high, with a 5-storey car park and a basement. When it was first built, it was known as the Development & Commercial Bank Building or D&C Bank. Later on, it became known as Bangunan Maybank Trust. It got its present name when it became one of the properties of the real estate trust Amanah Harta Tanah PNB2, or AHP2, which is managed by Pelaburan Hartanah Nasional Bhd.
The building is located on a site where there used to be an Armenian Cemetery up to the early 20th century.
