Jalan Permatang is one of the village roads in Permatang Tinggi, Seberang Perai, Penang. It links Jalan Tamil in the west to Jalan Simpah in the east, and is intersected by Jalan Dewan, Jalan Baru and Jalan Besar. It runs parallel to other east–west roads in the settlement such as Jalan Tengah, Jalan Pahlawan and Jalan Pasar.
Jalan Permatang follows an east–west orientation, forming part of the orderly grid that characterises Permatang Tinggi. Its intersections with Jalan Dewan, Jalan Baru and Jalan Besar make it one of the more accessible roads within the village, allowing smooth connectivity between the various lanes.
The road is primarily residential in nature, with houses lining both sides. Like the surrounding roads, Jalan Permatang provides a quiet neighbourhood atmosphere within the village, serving as a thoroughfare for local residents rather than heavy traffic. Its name, “Permatang,” reflects the name of the village itself, highlighting its central role within the community.
Jalan Permatang’s position within the grid ensures that it complements parallel roads such as Jalan Tengah, Jalan Pahlawan and Jalan Pasar. This network of roads collectively supports local movement within the village, contributing to the easy accessibility that defines Permatang Tinggi.
