Jalan Raja Gopal, George Town, Penang (11 August 2022)
Jalan Raja Gopal, formerly Raja Gopal Road, is a minor road in George Town. It connects Lengkok Burma and Jalan Perak. That connection was only established in 2021, when Jalan Raja Gopal was extended to a junction on Jalan Perak. Prior to that, the stretch was only a footpath.
Raja Gopal Road is mainly residential in character with townhouses build during the mid 20th century. It was named after A. Raja Gopal, a prominent Indian businessman in the mid 20th century who served as the honorary Secretary General of the Malaysian Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Penang, in 1958-59.
The nearest bus stop is along Burmah Road. It takes about 10-15 minutes to walk from the bus stop which is served by Rapid Penang bus 101, 102, 104 and 304.
