Sungai Besi Expressway (E9)Sungai Besi Expressway (E9) (9 July, 2016)

Sungai Besi Expressway (Lebuhraya Sungai Besi), commonly known as the BESRAYA, is an expressway on the eastern side of Kuala Lumpur. It was built between 1997 and 1999 by Road Builder (M) Holdings Berhad, which is today part of IJM Corporation Berhad. The expressway is originally 16 km long, but has since been lengthened and is now (as of Dec 2015) 28.3 km long. It starts at the UPM Interchange, where it connects with the North-South Expressway Soutern Route (E2), the SILK Highway (E18) and Jalan Serdang (B13).

There are two toll plazas on the Besraya Highway. They are the Mines Toll Plaza and Loke Yew Toll Plaza. In general, the toll rates at both toll plazas are (as of 15 October, 2015) RM2.00 for passenger cars and taxis (motor vehicles with 2 axles and 3-4 wheels), RM4 for vans and lorries (motor vehicles with 3 or more axles), RM1.30 for buses and free for motorcyles and bicycles.

The exits are numbered from south to north, with the first being the UPM Interchange (Exit 901). Extending south beyond the expressway is the old Jalan Sungai Besi.

About this website

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
