What is a Subzone?

A subzone is an administrative division within a larger planning area. These divisions were introduced by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) in the early 1990s to facilitate detailed urban planning and efficient resource allocation. Subzones help planners monitor population changes, infrastructure needs, and land use distribution more effectively.

For residents, subzones usually align with neighbourhood identities. Yew Tee is both a subzone and a well-recognised residential estate, where people readily associate the name with their daily lives and community.

Urban Character

Yew Tee is characterised by its dense residential estates, primarily Housing and Development Board (HDB) flats. It is a self-sufficient neighbourhood, with facilities such as Yew Tee Square, Yew Tee Point, and several schools serving the community. The area is also served by Yew Tee MRT Station on the North-South Line, providing convenient connectivity to other parts of Singapore.
