Lebuhraya Pykett, formerly Pykett Avenue, is a minor road off Burmah Road in George Town, Penang. It runs from Macalister Road on one end to Westland Road on the other, with a junction to Pykett Lane. The road was originally called Westland Avenue1 but was renamed Pykett Avenue after the Pykett Primary and Middle Schools were established there.
It was named in honour of Reverend George Frederick Pykett (1864-1932), the Methodist missionary whose name is immortalized for his contribution towards education in George Town. Although not the first Methodist missionary in Penang, Pykett was instrumental in setting up the Anglo-Chinese School, which spawned the Methodist Boys' School and Methodist Girls' School, the Pykett Methodist School and the Union Primary School and Union High School.
Much of the land in the area once belonged to the illustrious Khaw family, with its most famous scion having Khaw Sim Bee Road named in his honour.
