Jalan Akuarium, Gelugor (6 March 2013)
Jalan Akuarium is a minor road in the Sungai Gelugor neighbourhood of Gelugor, Penang. It was named after the Penang Aquarium located in the area. The aquarium was run by the Fisheries Research Institute. Structural damage to the building forced the aquarium to close down in 1982, and it was many years before the aquarium relocated and reopened in Batu Maung.
Although Jalan Akuarium no longer has an aquarium, the name remains. It is an undeveloped part of Gelugor where most of the buildings are either government quarters or property of the marine department.
