Weld Road, Singapore

Weld Road, SingaporeWeld Road, Singapore

Weld Road is a road in the Sungei Road neighbourhood of Rochor, Singapore. It connects Jalan Besar to Arab Street, across the Rochor River. In between, it also forms a junction with Larut Road and intersects Sungei Road.

Weld Road was named after the Governor of the Straits Settlements, Frederick Aloysius Weld. Weld Quay in Penang was also named after him, as was Weld Road in Kuala Lumpur, though Weld Road has since been renamed Jalan Raja Chulan.
