Kim Seng Road, Singapore

Kim Seng Road, SingaporeKim Seng Road, Singapore (30 July 2017)

Kim Seng Road is a road in downtown Singapore. Half of its length is through the Singapore River Planning Area while the other half is between the Singapore River Planning Area and Bukit Merah Planning Area. It is today a one-way road with traffic going from north to south. Kim Seng Road starts from Irwell Bank Road, at the intersection of River Valley Road, in the north; to Outram Road, at the intersection with Havelock Road, in the south.

Running in the opposite direction is Zion Road. In between, Kim Seng Walk is a one-way street with traffic from Zion Road to Kim Seng Road while Kim Seng Promenade relay traffic in the other direction. Kim Seng Road was of course named after Tan Kim Seng, the Malacca-born merchant who relocated to Singapore with his father, the equally renowned Tan Tock Seng. The road passes through Tan Kim Seng's property.
