Singapore Postal District 24

Postal District 24 is located in the northwestern part of Singapore. It is one of the least urbanised districts, encompassing rural farmland, military areas, and the emerging new town of Tengah. District 24 provides a stark contrast to Singapore’s dense urban core, offering wide open spaces and rustic landscapes.

District 24 is characterised by its rural setting and future urban plans:

Rural Farmland: Lim Chu Kang is the last significant farming zone in Singapore, with vegetable farms, fish farms, and plant nurseries.
Military Use: Large parts of Lim Chu Kang are occupied by training grounds and military camps, restricting civilian access.
Tengah New Town: Currently under phased development, Tengah is planned to be Singapore’s first “Forest Town,” emphasising sustainability, green spaces, and car-lite living.
Cemeteries: The district also houses Choa Chu Kang Cemetery Complex, Singapore’s largest cemetery.

Population Density

District 24 is very sparsely populated compared to most other districts. Lim Chu Kang remains largely rural with minimal residential population, while Tengah is still under development. The district’s population is expected to grow significantly as Tengah is built up.

Real Estate (2025)

Residential options in District 24 are extremely limited:

HDB flats: Tengah is under construction, with new BTO projects being launched. Prices for 4-room flats are expected to range from SGD 350,000–500,000.
Condominiums: None currently available in the district, but private projects may emerge as Tengah develops.
Landed properties: Not present, as Lim Chu Kang is primarily reserved for farming and military use.

Nearest MRT Stations

Currently, District 24 is not directly served by MRT lines. However, upcoming stations on the Jurong Region Line will serve Tengah:

Hong Kah MRT Station (future, Jurong Region Line)
Tengah MRT Station (future, Jurong Region Line)
Tengah Plantation MRT Station (future, Jurong Region Line)

At present, the nearest operational MRT stations are Bukit Gombak MRT Station and Choa Chu Kang MRT Station on the North South Line, located just outside District 24.

Distance from Fullerton Square

From Fullerton Square in District 1, District 24 is about 22–28 km by road, depending on the destination within Lim Chu Kang or Tengah.

Lim Chu Kang Road is known for its long, straight stretch lined with farms and nurseries.
Tengah New Town will feature Singapore’s first centralised cooling system in public housing.
The Choa Chu Kang Cemetery Complex spans over 300 hectares and includes burial grounds for different religions.
