Perak Lane, Jelutong, Penang (20 January 2019)
Perak Lane is one of the major roads in Jelutong, Penang. From a largely rural road, Perak Lane has evolved into one of the main urban roads in the southern part of George Town. It connects Perak Road on the western end to Jelutong Main Road on the eastern end. In between, it branches out to Lorong Penawar 1, Lengkok Perak, Lintang Sungai Pinang, Jalan Trusan, and Jalan Penawar 2.
As recently as the 1970s, Perak Lane was still a rural road through the predominantly Chinese settlements of Jelutong and Perak Road. The rural houses on both sides of the road have successively been torn down and high-rise apartments built in their place. Nonetheless even today, one can see the transformation, with zinc-roof village houses standing next to high-rise blocks. A number of high-rise apartment complex have been developed here, among them Taman Jelutong Jaya and Sri Wangsa, with more on the way.

Getting there
As of now, there are no bus routes through the Perak Lane area, so you will need to have your own transport.
