Pahang Road, George Town, Penang (25 November 2012)
Pahang Road, or Jalan Pahang, is a road in George Town, Penang. It links Dato Kramat Road to Anson Road, and contains mostly residential properties in the form of townhouses, some of which have been converted to commercial use.
Pahang Road was laid out in the early part of the 20th century, when the wooden village houses on the outskirt of the then George Town's boundaries made way for brick houses, many of which were built in the Art Deco style. It is one of several roads off Dato Kramat Road that was named after states, towns and districts in the then Malaya, among them including Perlis Road, Malacca Street, Kuantan Road, Kajang Road, Johore Road, Singapore Road and of course, Perak Road. Also within the vicinity are Selangor Road, Naning Street and Krian Road.
Pahang Road is not served with a bus route. The nearest bus stops are at Dato Kramat Road and Anson Road. Rapid Penang Bus 11, 201, 202, 203, 204, 206, 301, 302 and 502 pass through Dato Kramat Road while Rapid Penang Bus 10 and 104 pass through Anson Road.
