Saiboo Street, SingaporeSaiboo Street, Singapore (30 July 2017)

Saiboo Street is a road at Robertson Quay, Singapore. It is within the Singapore River Planning Area. The road connects Martin Road, at the junction of Mohamed Sultan Road in the north, to Havelock Road in the south. It crosses the Pulau Saigon Bridge.

According to Singapore Street Names1, the road was named after S. Saiboo Ghany, an influential South Indian Muslim who was one of the trustees of the Nagore Durgha Shrine in 1893. What's in the Name? has a different opinion2, stating that the road was named after money changer Saiboo Marican, and was known as Saiboo Marican Street in 1902.
