Gopeng Street, Singapore

Gopeng Street, SingaporeGopeng Street, Singapore (11 July 2011)

Gopeng Street is a short street in Downtown Core, Singapore, on the southern end of the Singapore Central Business District. It runs from Tanjong Pagar Road to the intersection with Tras Street, where it continues as Peck Seah Street. Despite being a narrow street, it provides two-way traffic flow.

Gopeng Street is one of a number of streets created in 1898-99 and named after places in Malaya. In this case, it is Gopeng in Perak. The Hokkien call this street Cho Su Kong Khau, meaning "outside the Cho Su Kong Temple".
