French Road Singapore (May 2021)

French Road is a minor road in the Kallang planning area of Singapore. Comprising two branches, the road is accessed from King George's Avenue, Horne Road and Jellicoe Road. The road is home to five HDB blocks built around 1979 on 99-year leasehold land. Collectively, there are 582 residential units there.

According to Singapore Street Names, French Road was named after Field Marshal John Denton Pinkstone French, the First Earl of Ypres (1852-1925). He is one of the British and French generals whose names were commemorated in road names in the Jalan Besar area.1
