Buangkok MRT Station (GPS: 1.38241, 103.89299; NE15) is an underground station of the Singapore MRT. It is located on Sengkang Central near the intersection with Compassvale Bow. Served by the North East Line, the station is located between the Hougang MRT Station (NE14) and Sengkang MRT Station (NE16).
Unlike the 16 other stations that was opened on 20 June 2003, the Buangkok MRT Station remained closed when the North East Line became operational. It was originally planned to be in operation along with the other station, but just a few days before the North East Line commenced, SBS Transit decided not to open the station, claiming low passenger traffic of the area.
The station was only opened on 15 January 2006, following much public displeasure and manifestations of grievances over the postponement. As predicted by its operator, the Buangkok MRT Station registers the lowest ridership of all the stations of the Singapore MRT. The station is within walking distance of the Renjong LRT Station of the Sengkang LRT Line.

Hello and thanks for reading this page. My name is Timothy and my hobby is in describing places so that I can share the information with the general public. My website has become the go to site for a lot of people including students, teachers, journalists, etc. whenever they seek information on places, particularly those in Malaysia and Singapore. I have been doing this since 5 January 2003, for over twenty years already. You can read about me at Discover Timothy. By now I have compiled information on thousands of places, mostly in Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore, and I continue to add more almost every day. My goal is to describe every street in every town in Malaysia and Singapore.
