Jalan Tan Iu Ghee, or Tan Iu Ghee Road, is a minor road in George Town, Penang. It connects on both ends with Lengkok P. Ramlee. The road is lined with single-storey semi-detached houses with their backs facing the Taman Free School flats.
Jalan Tan Iu Ghee was named in honour of local educator and businesswoman. She was born in Xiamen, China, along with her husband. Together, they joined the mass influx of Sin3khek3 immigrants, arriving in Penang by way of Phuket.
Tan Iu Ghee served as a go-between for the locals and the colonials. In order to communicate with the Anglican chaplain Reverend Louis Coutier Biggs, Tan Iu Ghee had to learn Malay. On the other hand, in order for members of the British administration to communicate with the Chinese community, she and her husband conducted classes in Hokkien for the colonial cadets of the Chinese Protectorate. She honoured her friendship to Reverend Biggs by naming her first daughter Louis Lim, after him.
